In a story that looks terrifying to everyone, as the story tells of the claims of a young woman (Amber Herd) that a dead patient haunts residents of a psychiatric facility. In that seemingly ill-conceived establishment, that woman struggles to escape all these strange attacks. In the end, Amber will reveal a more serious and horrific reality during all the horror that is certain.
Carpenter has made his approximation of a cheap, twisty, shock-filled modern horror movie, and he has lost all but faint sighs of his minimalist swagger in the process.
The movie's fluidity of motion is intoxicating. It's hard to argue that the so-so material is up to [Carpenter's] highest standards, but it can also be easily forgiven, and even enjoyed.
