The mysterious events are still going on in an interesting film. The events begin in Transylvania, where Marianne Daniel goes to a small village where she will teach French and her literature to teenage girls. The ceremony stops in the village and when Marianne prepares for dinner, the bus disappears and leaves her in the hostel. From the blue, Baroness Minster comes to the place and calls Marianne to spend the night in her castle, where she lives with her servant Greta. But she did not know what would happen to her.
The film features the familiar elements (beautiful color cinematography, lavish sets, solid writing, strong performances), making this a worthy heir to its predecessor.
If it isn't as iconic and elemental as its predecessor, that's no reflection on how well it works as a vampire entertainment on its own...an unusually original way to continue the closed-off story of Bram Stoker's novel.
