Set in the world of mega-churches, the film tells the story of a man (Greg Kinnear) who becomes the target of a fundamentalist preacher's (Pierce Brosnan) minions after he sees the preacher accidentally shoot an atheist.
The movie seems to be intoxicated by how funny it thinks it is, gleefully descending into a swell of hyperactivity, with each new scene engineered to one-up the last.
