The movie explores the story of Steve Butler, an AC sales salesman. Steve is partnering with his partner Sue Thomason to shut down a major country town in expansion plans for his large company during that time. There are Steve's experiences that changed the course of things in his life.
Van Sant's direction isn't nearly as flashy as it was in 2009's "Milk," but he provides the right amount of visual propulsion to keep the story moving along.
