FBI criminal profiler Will Graham is called out of early retirement to assist on a serial murder case involving a killer named 'the Tooth Fairy' by the media, who randomly kills whole families in their houses during nights of the full moon and leaves bite marks on his victims.
While Manhunter is absorbing and sometimes tense, it's unfortunate that Mann dedided to direct the film with the stylistic overkill of his Miami Vice.
