The film covers the experience of Eric Lazard, the shattered former college soccer star who was introduced to Calcio Storico. Calcio Storico is an old football form played every summer in Florence that combines rugby and street fighting, where this player was able to experience his experience during his cousin Anna's visit, who lives in Italy and teaches the Italian language to foreigners.
The male-fantasy earmarks of "Lost in Florence," a guy-perspective romance written and directed by Evan Oppenheimer, are hard to ignore, but it's still a reasonably pleasant film.
