In order to spend an adventure weekend, two closed friends, Vaughn Carter, who waits for his first baby, and his best friend, Marcus Trenton, a bachelor guy who love drinking and adventure, travel to the Scottish Highlands, but incidents come to climax as they have to confront their fears to stay alive.
Ben Baird's sound design, meanwhile, is a thing of fretful beauty, seamlessly meshing a barrage of natural effects with Anne Nikitin's creaking, squeaking, screeching score.
The pace is relentless in kind, which isn't always to the benefit of the story... But Calibre is a great calling card for Palmer, who's proved that he's a talent and one to watch.
