Catherine Schade is a Hexenbiest -- a witch-like Wesen -- and mother to Adalind Schade. She taught her vicious little girl everything she knows about being a Hexenbiest and seems unusually close to Captain Sean Renard of the Portland PD. She also runs afoul of Grimm Kelly Burkhardt, setting the stage for a mommy battle of epic proportions.
