Jonas Stern is the third name partner in Stern, Lockhart & Gardner when the series begins. He is one of the firm's founders and a legendary lawyer. He is frequently out of the office and out of sight out of mind. He comes to Alicia Florrick for assistance representing him in a DUI case and puts her in a difficult position.
