Joanne Street is the mother of Jason Street, the star quarterback at Dillon High School whose career ended when he tried to make a tackle during a game and suffered a serious spinal injury that left him paralyzed in the lower half of his body. She and Jason's father eventually attempt to sue the school and Coach Taylor.
