In 2012, Sam directed and starred the art house drama, Approaching Midnight (2013), featuring the talents of music singer Jana Kramer (co-star of TV's One Tree Hill (2003)) and Brandon T. Jackson (co-star of Tropic Thunder (2008)).He holds a master's degree from the world-renowned Northwestern University, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
