Champion gymnast Josef Walter was born on December 1, 1901 in Switzerland. Walter won a silver medal in men's floor exercise at the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin, Germany. Moreover, Josef was also one of the non-scoring members of the Swiss gymnastics team who won silver medals in the men's team all-around event at the 1936 Olympics.
