Toguchi, of Okinawan and Japanese descent, won several talent competitions as a child and teenager, culminating in being named Miss Hawaii in 1995.Toguchi still models, and she has appeared in a few more movies, but her main focus (as of 2008) is music, and she has recently released an album on her own label.
