Katherine Hynes grew up in rural Australia where she was crowned her town's "Jacaranda Festival Queen". She came to professional acting after successful careers as a Sydney radio announcer/journalist, Travel Channel TV host and Award Winning TV documentary maker. As a talented communicator, she's been Spokesperson for Rupert Murdoch's News Limited and Australian Communications giant Telstra Bigpond. In 2006 she relocated to Los Angeles with her TV director husband Ian Stevenson and their two children. Booking national and international TV commercials (eg Walmart, Becks Beer, and Franklin Templeton Investments), she soon attracted film & TV roles. Katherine Hynes has worked with leading Hollywood directors including Marcus Nispel (Vendredi 13 (2009),and Massacre à la tronçonneuse (2003)) and Harald Zwart (La panthère rose 2 (2009) and Cody Banks : Agent secret (2003) She has just completed production on horror film Empress Vampire (2019) with Chinese martial arts actress 'Ange Maya'.
