It seems that director and producer Diplo has lived a different life while he can attract 60,000 people to their feet with his music. Diplo is a different person because he doesn't do well when talking to someone face to face, while the series tries to advance her life when James Van der Beck plays the lead here.
That the DJ would examine and deflate his own persona is engaging, funny stuff; it's made 10 times more entertaining by the alarming, charismatic ease with which Van Der Beek slips into the role.
The constant electronic noise peppered between scenes makes my ears bleed. But JVDB remains charming so I'm happy to have him back on the small screen.
