This drama series follows the struggles of Emma and Lyn, two Mexican American sisters, who are so different from one another and struggle against returning to their hometown in the East side of Los Angeles, where they reveal the dark truth of their mother. In this new season, Emma and Lyn achieve their professional life goal.
I'm sorry we won't get a fourth season to watch Emma and Lyn solidify Vida's vital place in the neighborhood; it feels like a miracle, though, that this little gem of a show even got the three seasons it did.
Vida reflects life in all of its messiness,..In the series we see both good and the bad, but more importantly, we see how we can grow, learn, and ultimately transform ourselves.
Vida's six-part farewell season also feels gangly, its ambitions outstripping its execution. I'm only being as hard on the show as I am because, for most of its run, it's been a triumph of personal vision and uncompromising complexity.
