The series deals with a series of dramatic events, with Lars running as a 'Romeo agent' from East Germany in the 1970s. Lars tries to get into his mission by going west, first to seduce and then spy on western women who have worked in government or defense establishments and to search for different investigative paths along the way.
If you adored Sofia Helin as Saga Noren in The Bridge, and admired the drama Deutschland 83, set in a divided Berlin, chances are you will find The Same Sky not too shabby.
Unlike other European dramas such as The Bridge or The Killing, the many narrative strands here exist not so much to be pulled together in a dramatic conclusion, but purely to paint a wider picture of 1970s Germany.
