Faced with the destruction of her town at the hands of a greedy mining company, rebellious high school teacher Sarah Cooper utilizes an obscure cartographical loophole to declare independence.
The Republic of Sarah is something entirely new and I can say with absolute honesty that there's nothing else quite like it onscreen at the moment. But as original as its premise might be, how long can this possibly continue?
The balancing act between all the intersecting storylines is solid, if perfunctory. With that many characters, and an extraordinary amount of plot to burn through in every episode, not everyone gets enough to do.
