Season 6 opens with Will attempting to make dinner for Philip and his boss, but ends up burning the kitchen. He asks Geoffrey to help with the dinner and hide the damage; Will and Carlton competing for a job at Hilary's talk show. Will wins the job and has to take out a comedian's sister as part of his duties.

But the power of the hour comes from Will's struggle to use what he's learned from Philip, continue his growth and make that most difficult passage to becoming a man. That's not bad work by a sitcom.
