In a dramatic and exciting atmosphere, this animation series follows Harrow, the human king in the fictional world of Xaidia. Humans are on a conflict against elves because the second thinks that humans killed their king and destroy their continent. Elves send a killer to get rid of the human king. Harrow explains the truth to the killer and they begin a journey to get back peace.
It combines goofy humor with a solid basis for longterm storytelling and character development, and the character designs show a deep affection for the genre.
The toughest trick must have been making the unbroken formula feel fresh, but the show glides along at a thrilling, effervescent pace so that the old feels comforting instead of stale.
If viewers can move past a premise that amounts to little more than Tolkien fan fiction, there's a lot to enjoy in the characters of this new fantasy adventure.
If you can get past these issues with the animation, although I'm sure for many that's asking more than they'll be willing to give, there's a lot to love here.
