The series revolves around a clever policeman named Vince Faraday who works for a corrupt police force. As part of a series of murders, Faraday faces many challenges, especially when he tries to protect his wife and children. Faraday decides to become his son's favorite comic book hero, The Cape, to solve the series of serious crimes that occur after being trained by the most dangerous circus ringleader ever.
Marked by logical elisions, word-balloon dialogue and conveniently located plot holes though it may be, this is a machine for putting its heroes in tight spaces and watching them kick their way free, and it does its work efficiently and with flair.
The Cape is never as gripping as it probably should be. The name of the hero is dumb, and the concept feels stale, combining drab crime drama elements with comic book genre fare.
The Cape delivers...a thoroughly entertaining viewing experience, with solid action scenes, a terrific score and an intriguing plot paced so quickly, you'll feel as if you're watching a visual representation of a graphic novel.
The outline of the story could be interesting if it were simply slowed down a bit and balance the cheesy and the charming more in a way that 'Chuck' proved possible.
