Season 2 begins again with a new drama as Tess deals with a handsome guest and will receive a new show at those moments. On the other hand, Howard takes his staff to find out where all their food comes from, and Tess finds out more information that makes them wonder about those who can be trusted.
Where the show does a much better job is in its portrayal of the connections within the microcosm of the restaurant, one that completely runs the lives of those who are a part of it. It's all funny, emotional, warm and quickly forgotten in turn.
Sweetbitter's dizzying range of directors and writers perhaps explains the unevenness of the episodes. Though each one is coated in an appetising glaze, the ingredients beneath can vary in quality.
