As has happened so many times in the Wachowskis' career, you're left wishing they'd been paid for their initial idea and that the execution had been left entirely to someone else.
Aside from a couple of memorable performances and a tiny handful of expertly crafted scenes, however, my strongest connection to "Sense8" is in imagining what could've been had the siblings realized their underrated "Cloud Atlas" in this format.
Spanning almost as many genres as it does time zones, Netflix's Sense8... is a fascinating, globe-trotting epic that still manages to feel very intimate.
These characters could not [be] further away from each other both physically and culturally, and the ways in which their wires cross make for some of the pilot's most compelling moments.
Sense8's commitment to a diverse cast and an original premise is admirable-especially compared to Daredevil, which was lavished with praise for competently executing a well-trod cliché.
