This series embodies the reality of a lawyer named Jessica Pearson. Jessica is an ambitious and smart girl who tries to adapt to her idealistic world in the search for those most complex issues. Over time, Jessica began to adapt to that dirty policy in Chicago that puts her in a serious challenge with the most dangerous men and law-abiding defendants in the city.
For fans of Suits, the change in tone that comes with Pearson will no doubt be jarring, but it offers a more substantial role for [Gina] Torres in a more fleshed-out version of Jessica.
The weird obsessions that made Suits wildly more entertaining than your standard legal drama have all disappeared. Instead, there's an endless parade of political soap opera.
Overall, the stakes are higher on Pearson than they ever were on Suits, but, ironically, the series is still much more of a slow burn than the flagship show.
