Everything about the earth, its being, its crow, its hardness, and even its existence amidst a vast universe full of wonders. The land is unique because it is the only inhabited population and why? One of the astronauts tells us what the earth is in its full truth that we have not seen before.
Right down to the name, it has a strong feel of being conceived by a committee with a brief of "find things that will make Will Smith, in his cupboard, go, 'Whoa'."
One Strange Rock is the answer to the question "How do we do a nature documentary, but bigger than ever before?" It's an enormous undertaking that's often breathtaking in its presentation, one that is befitting the blockbuster status it's striving for.
Feel free to fast-forward through (or simply ignore) Will Smith. There's plenty to get hyped for in One Strange Rock without the After Earth star's giddy ebullience.
