This television series follows in comedy a day in the life of two cops, who try to track down a drug dealing, two criminals, who struggle against survival, and two Mexican workers, as each group, face challenges through doing their work.
No Activity plays in minor key, a reminder of some of comedy's essential ingredients. Shticks combine irreverence with mundanity, there is generous give and take between performers, and it shows an appreciation of incongruity in various iterations.
The first CBS All Access comedy may not break new ground, but it handles its simple premise with earnestness and enthusiasm. There's something to be said for getting the basics so very right.
