The third season is all about the chemistry between Jess and Nick and their dynamic with the rest of the gang as the two of them go from being just friends to boyfriend and girlfriend. An ensemble comedy centering on a free-spirited young woman, her three male roommates and her best friend, as they navigate modern relationships and end up forming a charmingly dysfunctional – or strangely functional – family.
"All In" is a fantastic entrance into New Girl's third season, with all the hilarious and touching moments that have made New Girl one of the best comedies on TV.
It wasn't the most polished - or even the most nuanced - New Girl episode ever. But a second viewing that made for even more laughs than the first gives me hope that this season has somewhere to go.
I've worried about the direction [it] has...[taken some of its characters], with Schmidt turning heel and Winston going insane. "The Captain" kept pushing both of those angles and yet it was by far the funniest and most satisfying episode [yet].
