Season three begins with a group of children who find themselves in an alternative dimension full of visions in that painful past. These kids should find their parents and Alex before things fall apart, and there is one person behind them. In Dark Dimension, children must overcome those events sweeping the city and may allude to darker and more mysterious objects.
Season 3 of Runaways is everything that makes the show great, turned up to 11. The result is quite often moving and generally a lot of fun, but will nevertheless leave viewers with a bittersweet taste in their mouths.
It's as though Runaways knows it should be a show about the instability and intensity of being a teenager, but lacks the courage to engage with those stakes.
Runaways has been at its best, and remains at its best, when it's able to slow down and fully explore the intersection of teen drama and superhero show.
