The second season tells of a host of new surprises that come from drama and action. The season opens with a new series of events, including Topher helping children break into the Atlas Academy, but the plan explodes when Dale and Stacey cause an earthquake and rush the parents to the scene. On the other hand, Jonah's body continues to collapse as Carolina leads to the hole, which seems exciting.
Runaways finds a stronger through-line in its sophomore year, but it needs to better balance the endless brooding with levity... The kids have already escaped their families-give them a little more rambunctious energy and wit with which to celebrate it
For a bunch of spoiled rich kids from Brentwood, with little cash, no fresh clothes and few, if any, street skills, they're doing remarkably well on the run.
It's not boring, but it's not as gripping as it could be, either. Compared with the stilted, motionless season one, season two of Runaways is a definite improvement.
