That's the best thing about this series: a passionate, knowledgable bloke talks about films in a way that makes you want to repeatedly enter into transparent cuboids ... well, go to the cinema a lot.
I try to make it a rule never to be too nice to colleagues, let alone quote two in one piece, but I have to say Mark Kermode's Secrets of Cinema was an endlessly refreshing delight.
Kermode does fantastically to give a taste of what sci-fi has to offer with suggestions from across the decades. From robots to time travel to far-off planets, he covers it all and leaves you wanting to discover more yourself.
Kermode without the Mayo is a moreish treat, the kind of film show that makes you want to immediately watch your favourites again and seek out the recommended new stuff. All in, a five star treat.
