The series follows the story of young parents Dave and Rebecca who take a new path in their lives. The pair is trying to take care of Dave's parents who mismanaged their money for a long time. It seems that the young parents are performing a range of tasks as parents need help to pay off a large debt that seems to put them in trouble.
The lines, setups and delivery almost seem to fly out of the last century - light from a distant galaxy, arriving just now. None of this makes "Indebted" bad so much as obvious.
The precise midpoint between juicily nasty and wholesome is a tricky balance to strike, and Indebted doesn't get there, toggling back and forth between its perspectives on the characters depending on the scene.
After three episodes, there's plenty of room for improvement and plenty of time to improve, but it'll take a big renovation to whip "Indebted" into shape, and it may not be worth the investment.
