Europe’s Waterways (2021) is a five-part documentary series that explores the cultural, historical, and natural landscapes of Europe through its great rivers, canals, and lakes. Each episode follows a different route, showing how waterways have shaped communities, commerce, and traditions for centuries.
The journeys include Italy’s Po River, Germany’s Müritz Lake and the River Spree, France’s Camargue and Ardèche, Poland’s Gdańsk Bay and Masurian Lakes, and the canals and rivers of the Netherlands and Belgium. Along the way, the series highlights stunning scenery, unique architecture, and the daily lives of the people who live close to the water.
Filmed in 4K, Europe’s Waterways combines travel, history, and human stories to create an immersive portrait of Europe seen from the perspective of its flowing lifelines.
