Upon taking the murder case, Sadie Ellies, a young successful defense lawyer, who falls for her client who accused of murder, does her best to prove his innocence although she herself is not sure about.
While Katherine Heigl is a natural fit for the lead role, the show is generally at its best when it focuses on Laverne Cox and Dulé Hill's characters instead.
It's very clear from the dialogue, pacing, and tone that Doubt would really like to remind you of still another CBS show -- The Good Wife -- but, sorry, it's nowhere in the same league.
It's compelling in parts and humorous in fleeting moments, and there's always much intrigue surrounding Billy's past and whether he's really telling Sadie the truth about the case.
I know Katherine Heigl can be...controversial, but I like her, and I think this is a great role for her. The series even has a bit of a Shonda Rhimes feel to it.
