It's a comedy series that captures the story of a young lawyer named Will Packham. Will is an ideal student lawyer who coexists with his everyday reality and tries to uphold his principles and prove that he has what he needs to be attentive and conscious. Will Reea suffers from a daily tragedy because his boss does not respect him and his clients are all guilty. Will finds himself at a different juncture when he starts fighting for his job and begins to wonder if he has a plan or not.
A show about barristers may not be hugely original but, in these days of feature-length first episodes, not outstaying your welcome is an innovation in itself.
For all its flaws, Defending the Guilty's blend of infantile jokes and its portrayal of barristers as hoodlums in horsehair yields flashes of wiggy stardust.
