Giving birth to their first child, this comedy series, follows Paul, a young married man, who experiences having a child for the first time and by the help of his wife, they face the happiness and terrible of children and the responsibilities of being parents.
Thanks to its creative team and solid performers, Breeders is a reliable comedy that hits all the beats one might expect from its "parenting, but more honest" premise.
The pilot situations are entirely recognizable for parents, particularly trying to get children to go to sleep and dealing with their fears. These scenarios play out in darkly hilarious ways.
Comparisons to Amazon's superior Catastrophe are also inevitable. That show... had an inherent sweetness to it; the love they had for their children was palpable. The same can't be said for Breeders which can't shake its nasty, cold undertones.
