If nothing else, the reveal of the Glades' relation to Oliver's notebook should give the series a stronger focus heading into the final hours of the season.
"Salvation" existed solely to provide that clue, and perhaps to raise the profile of Roy Harper. Virtually everything else that happened is inconsequential...or at least feels that way.
It's always a good sign when the heroes become aware of the larger implications of the overall plot, and, in that regard, Arrow has consistently made significant progress.
It's not perfect, but with plenty of action, plot twists, character development, nerd-pleasing references...and - of course - some ludicrous Stephen Amell shirtless activity, this Arrow hits all the big targets.
Using a defunct subway line to strike at the problem part of a city certainly sounds an awful lot like the evil plot featured in a movie that...has been compared to Arrow frequently, and rhymes with Ratman Ree-gins.
"Salvation" delivered some significant progress on several fronts, not least of which being the involvement of Roy Harper and his ongoing evolution from street thug to faithful sidekick.
"Salvation"...was as meaty and dimensional as anything this season. Every plot kept step with the other and, for a few wonderful minutes at the end, Stephen Amell almost cried.
