This great comedy television series revolve around comedy discussion between Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, the presenters, and a group of comedians in different colours, to overcome race destination, on different topics of poetry, romance, eating, race, and the lifestyle of living in America.
Ms. Williams and Ms. Robinson share an obvious comfort with each other and a confidence in their ability as performers. As a result, the show feels both spontaneous and polished like a ruby.
Their specials, filmed at the historic Kings Theater in Brooklyn and directed by Tig Notaro, bring the live show to the masses who haven't been lucky enough to attend tapings in person.
Not everyone who does a podcast is ready for prime time but, in the case of Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, they're not only ready, they deserve an actual prime-time slot on HBO and immediate extension beyond the four episodes.
We rarely see hosting partnerships that are true partnerships. The late-night talk format could use some shaking up, and the best way to shake it up on a more regular basis might be to send in the Queens.
Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson are undoubtedly two of the most interesting, compelling voices in the industry at the moment, and giving them an on-camera platform is the best move HBO could have made.
Although it's always fun to watch Williams and Robinson banter back and forth, it's their big interviews that make the strongest case for Queens to make the jump to the small screen.
