Irish bands return again, but this time in a comedy dress mixed with fun music. The concert is led by a number of important personalities such as the famous actor Robert Sheehan, the Australian dance poet Morris, an indigenous dance troupe, as well as a group of other rock bands and a group of wine lovers.
It's a relentlessly well-meaning film and when it's not proselytising, it's working very hard to manufacture enough laughs to make the whole mix palatable. However, the effort shows.
Elton's film is the equivalent of a music festival. Odds are a lot of bands will be great, but there are also bound to be a lot of acts that aren't very good.
The film is worth seeing for Waters, giving a spirited portrayal of a loving father set in his ways and unable to see that times are changing, and Breeds as his lively, talented, worldly wise daughter.
