Three young people head to a remote holiday apartment complex, left vacant during the offseason, for a drunken weekend, only to be imprisoned on the top floor of their holiday apartment by a malevolent paranormal force.
"The Snare" is admirably artful and oblique in putting its own twist on the haunted-house story, but it's derivative of much better psychological suspense films and is obnoxiously unpleasant to boot.
It tries to create and maintain an atmosphere of pervading tension, but through its unrealised premise, uneventful plot and simple lack of any real story, it utterly fails to hold your attention.
