The River Thief is a rich, action- adventure about guilt, grace, and receiving life as a gift, telling the story of a reckless teenage drifter (Joel Courtney) who endangers the lives of a man (Tommy Cash) and his granddaughter (Raleigh Cain) after stealing money from a drug dealer.
It's entirely fitting that "The River Thief" is an unabashedly faith-based drama - it would take a considerable leap of faith to find many redemptive qualities in this hackneyed, heavy-handed first feature written and directed by YA author N.D. Wilson.
