It is the story of Boxer Sean Thornton who sparked great controversy after the opponent was accidentally killed. Sean decided to return to Ireland in order to buy a home and live peacefully away from turmoil while finding love again.
The film's saucy mix of comedy and melodrama is one of its greatest charms, although it can give you whiplash from time to time, especially if you're not used to Ford's brand of broad, back-slapping comedy
