The movie follows the path of a man named Joseph Corwin, a magician who seems to be believed by everyone to be due to the strange phenomena surrounding his palace. After 110 years, his great-grandson, Charles Dexter Ward, arrived in order to obtain the legacy of his grandfather who had left him, but Charles ostensibly controlled by the spirit of his ancestors spirit for revenge very eerily.
Corman's widescreen framing, the blazing Technicolor photography, and the effectively maximized production values created a convincing, if twisted, world.
