The life of Jonathan Fisher, a young aspiring reporter, who is about to lose his job, so he writes a fake story about a pimp, has been changed completely, as he finds himself involved with a pimp, the thing that risks his life and challenges him.
There's something about seedy undersides that brings out the best (or at least the personal) in director Jerry Schatzberg ... though his Elia Kazan social consciousness could use a little toning down.
