The film captures a range of situations in which a confused teenager in New York, James Civic, walks through. James lives with his family eccentric love and continuous dysfunction. James has more skills through which he will have a deep understanding of the world and have no idea how to live in it. Over time, his grandmother, based on the free spirit, knew how James felt.
The film is a pleasant watch, filled with nice little moments of comedy and tenderness, and optimistic about the fate of dreamers who happen to be a little slow out of the starting gate.

It's not exactly a trainwreck of a movie, but Someday This Pain is so void of depth and meaning, it often resembles a parody of the bruised teen subgenre.
