Picking up three years since the series finale, Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and best friend, Burton 'Gus' Guster (Dulé Hill) are working together in San Francisco when one of their friends becomes a target.
Psych: The Movie is lively and lightweight, buoyed by Roday and Hill's bond, which hasn't diminished at all in the last three years. Its structure is classic Psych.
The case at Psych: The Movie's core, too, is classic Psych: dire, convoluted, a bit Christmas-y, and wrapped up in an unrealistically-but thrillingly-tight timeframe.
The movie gets a pass in the end. It delivers on the character beats fans want. It's a fun watch that's going to leave many pleased and excited for the potential of more.
