Kate is a nearly 30-year-old girl who has settled in her career as a writer, but is not entirely satisfied with what she is doing, especially when her best friend comes back from Paris with a surprising new lover in a terrible emotional atmosphere. Kate feels she wants to eliminate that isolation and thinking in a new life.
It's somewhat difficult to assess Helman's screenwriting expertise, but he demonstrates a fine rapport with the cast as he competently juggles acting and directorial duties.
