It is a series of challenges that we live through in 1215 in England where the despised King John put his royal seal on the Magna Carta document, a noble document that supported the rights of free men. It seems that a short time has passed and things have changed. In the end, the king retreated from his speech and gathered an army of mercenaries on the southern coast of England to regain control of the country.
What saves the flick is Paul Giamatti's John, played as a petulant, damaged man born in a world where he wields the power of a god and inevitably rages as that power is snatched away.
