A dramatic movie that follows a struggled family, the mother is Sarah who before her death asked her elder son, Drew, to gather again with his estranged brother, Will. She wanted from them to become a family once more with their addicted father. They start a journey to their hometown but a chain of bad memories begins to appear.
It's more reflective of the human experience than many of its pure-hearted brethren. However, it undercuts that authenticity by lacking strong character motivations and details that would make this story of redemption feel truer.
Rough and uneven, Generational Sins is not the sort of film that will be passed along from father to son. It is, however, an adequate vehicle for MacPherson to demonstrate what he's capable of, and that's worth watching.
