Following the adventures and efforts of Phillip Brainard, an absent minded professor, who is obsessed with invention and finding out another source of energy, the thing that leads him to work hard by the help of his assistant, till he manages to invent a Flubber, something is liken rubber that helps to fly through air.
Almost everyone in the cast seems to realize they're here purely to kill time between special-effects sequences and the tiresome slapsticky antics served up by screenwriter John Hughes.
