In this movie, Isabel lost her virginity in a short period, as she took a completely secret life. During this period, Isabel meets her clients in hotel room experiences, where she remains aloof from her curiosity. In the end, Isabelle showed little interest in the same confrontations that took place.
I'm no beer aficionado, but I found Drinking Buddies to be like a cold, clear drink of artisanal beer -- savory with rich, emphasized notes while also sparkling with subtlety.
I was a bit skeptical when I first learned about Drinking Buddies, because I did not expect Wilde and her cohorts to be up for the task; thankfully, I was proven wrong, and the actors go places that I would never expect studio-seasoned actors to go.
Swanberg doesn't exactly reinvent the romantic-comedy formula, but he explores it in unexpected ways, with a terrific cast making the relationships all the more genuine and enjoyable.
